Presentation

For 4 days we will enjoy the most varied landscapes of Patagonia along a 70km route around Cerro Huemul. This is an adventure ideal for those who enjoy constant challenges as we cross several streams and rivers, traverse gigantic glacial moraines, and enjoy authentically Patagonian landscapes shaped by the wind and the passage of glaciers. We recommend staying in El Chaltén for 6 to 7 days, as the trek requires four consecutive days and it may be necessary to adjust the start date depending on weather conditions.

Descripción

Explore the beautiful and solitary Valle del Río Túnel and walk on the Túnel glacier. Enjoy the view of the Campo de Hielo Sur, Paso del Viento, the Viedma Glacier, and camp at bahía de los Témpanos just a few meters from large ice chunks very close to our tent. A journey through medium and high mountain terrain, inhospitable, wild at times, and of great beauty.

Itinerary

We begin the first stage of our trekking through forests along winding trails and then descend into a wide glacial valley towards Laguna Toro. We have 16km to our final destination, and along the way, we can enjoy beautiful views of the Fitz Roy, Torre, and Solo mountains. Before reaching the lagoon, we set up camp where we will spend two nights sheltered from the wind in the forest. We will spend the night at Camp Toro: the first wild stop of our expedition. Observations: Estimated duration: 7hrs Distance: 16kms. Elevation gain: +600mts. Elevation loss: -400mts. Physical demand: moderate. Wild camping service with dinner and lunch box.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Huemul Circuit is a 4-day mountain trek covering approximately 70 km, taking place in a remote natural environment with varied terrain. To take part in this experience, participants must have a good level of physical fitness and previous experience in trekking and camping. You should be prepared for several consecutive days of walking for several hours, gaining and losing elevation, and navigating uneven terrain, including mountain areas, moraines, and stream and river crossings. Throughout the trek, participants must carry a backpack containing their personal gear and part of the group equipment, so it is important to be accustomed to walking with weight for several hours. Technical climbing experience is not required, but previous experience in mountain trekking and the ability to be self-sufficient during multi-day outdoor activities are required. This trek is not recommended as a first trekking or camping experience. Each participant should honestly assess their physical condition and previous experience before booking. Mountain and weather conditions may affect how the trek develops. The activity is always carried out following the safety instructions and criteria of the team in charge.
