Descripción

Experience an authentic countryside adventure at Estancia Nibepo Aike, a historic Patagonian ranch located on the southern arm of Lake Argentino, within Los Glaciares National Park, 56 km from El Calafate. With over 110 years of history and still owned by the same family that founded it, Nibepo Aike preserves the traditions of rural Patagonian life. Hereford cattle ranching is now its main livestock activity, alongside a long history of sheep farming. Throughout the day, you will discover the history of the estancia, learn about traditional rural activities, enjoy a typical Patagonian lamb barbecue, and explore the Andean landscapes on horseback, riding through native forests, mountains, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking Lake Argentino. An ideal experience for connecting with the traditions, nature, and rural culture of Patagonia.

Itinerary

The day begins in the morning with a departure from El Calafate along Provincial Route No. 15, known as the Estancias Road. During the journey, Mount Frias accompanies the landscape, and wildlife such as condors, foxes, and hares may be spotted. You may also observe rural activities and sheep being herded. After crossing the Rico River, the Patagonian steppe gradually gives way to a mountainous landscape. Once inside Los Glaciares National Park, the road follows the shores of Lake Roca until reaching the estancia. Pick-up in El Calafate: 8:15 AM.
