This excursion will take you to one of the most beautiful places in Los Glaciares National Park with the privilege of accessing: the Mayo Channel of Lake Argentino and concluding with the Perito Moreno Glacier. This place features a microclimate, with higher humidity within the National Park, creating a totally different, unique, and beautiful vegetation. The “Mayo Spirit Trek” is the perfect combination of walks in forests, with observation of waterfalls, rivers, hanging glaciers, and a visit to the unmissable Perito Moreno Glacier (navigation and walkways). Suitable for all audiences, with medium-low difficulty walks, recommended for those who want to discover the “heart of Los Glaciares National Park.”
Itinerary
We will pick you up from your hotel to take you to Puerto Punta Bandera located 57km from El Calafate. The Cruz del Sur vessel will depart from the port and immediately enter the Canal de los Témpanos of Lake Argentino. The first stop (without disembarking) will be in front of Punta Bandera, a historical site. Continuing with the navigation, we will enter the Seno or Canal Mayo of Lake Argentino.
(Total walking distance: approx. 700mts. / Difficulty: low, flat terrain, with exposed stones and roots.) Accompanied by the vessel guide, we will take an interpretive walk through the Patagonian Andean forest until we reach a waterfall.
